bmi’s Continental connection – Q1-2010 promo – BD/CO codeshare
1. Dates/Terms/Eligibility:
The “bmi’s Continental connection” promotion begins January 19, 2010 and ends April 18, 2010. No purchase necessary, agents may enter the promotion via online game entry-once a day, by registering eligible ticket numbers on the promotion website, refer a co-worker or by signing up for the 1st time for bmi emails. Ticket entries apply to bmi validated and coded tickets or Continental validated and coded tickets from the U.S. through London LHR on CO operated flights with a bmi operated/coded flight beyond. Tickets issued from the U.S. to LHR only are not eligible. Tickets must be booked between January 19, 2010 and April 18, 2010. The contest is open only to US selected/eligible travel agents with a valid IATA number in eligible states or US home based agents with a bmi code in eligible states. (Home base agents can register for a bmi code on the promotion page of the bmi travel agent website. Void where prohibited.
2. How to enter:
Travel agents can enter on the web site: www.flybmi-agent.com.
Register a ticket- book and register an eligible ticket issued January 19 – April 18, 2010 for travel commencing from January 19, 2010 – December 31, 2010. Registered tickets will receive the following entries:
- Book and ticket any roundtrip flight in BusinessFirst / Business Class, departing from the U.S. on BD codeshare/CO operated through London (LHR) and beyond on a BD operated flight – ticketed on BD ticket stock (236) or CO ticket stock (005) = 10 entries per booking
- Book and ticket any roundtrip flight in Economy Class departing from the U.S. on BD codeshare/CO operated through London (LHR) and beyond on a BD operated flight- ticketed on BD ticket stock (236) or CO ticket stock (005) = 5 entries per booking
- No minimum bookings required
- Grand Prize & 1st place winners will be selected at random from all verified eligible bookings after the promotion has ended
- Eligible tickets – tickets issued in the USA for travel originating in USA, booked on the BD codeshare flight number/operated by CO to LHR, with an onward bmi booked/operated flight to any bmi destination
Play the game- play the word search game, once a day, for 1 entry into the weekly drawing for a $25 gift card.
Refer a co-worker – refer a co-worker and receive 1 entry for each co-worker referred for an entry into the weekly drawing for a $25 gift card.
Signup for bmi emails – signup for bmi exclusive emails and earn 1 entry into the weekly drawing for a $25 gift card. Existing or duplicate email signups are not eligible and therefore invalid. Signup must be a 1st time signup.
3. Prizes:
Grand Prize: winner will be selected from all eligible ticket entries. One winner is entitled to:
- A pair of BusinessFirst tickets on Continental from HOU or EWR to LHR with a connecting bmi operated flight in Business Class to any bmi destination
Runner up: winner will be selected from all eligible ticket entries. One winner is entitled to:
- A pair of Economy Class tickets on Continental from HOU or EWR to LHR with a connecting bmi operated flight in Economy Class to any bmi destination
Grab bag: winner will be chosen from all eligible entries.

Weekly prize - $25 gift card
Play the word search game, refer a co-worker, register a ticket or have a 1st time email signup – will earn one entry into the weekly drawing for a $25 gift card. Winners will be chosen at random from all entries during the given week.
First 50 – The first 50 US travel agents to register and eligible ticket will receive a bmi tote bag.
An eligible ticket: Must be a ticket issued in the US, with travel originating in the US on a CO operated flight from HOU or EWR to LHR with a BD operated connecting flight to any destination in bmi’s network.
All other expenses not specified herein with respect to the above prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. The Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of the Grand prize is $XXX, Runner up prize is $12,000, Grab bag prize is $200, weekly winner gift card is $25 and bmi tote bag is $25. A W-9 form (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) will be forwarded to winners for completion and a 1099 form will be prepared and forwarded to the winners at year's end.
All other expenses not specified herein with respect to the above prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners.
4. Prize drawing:
Potential winners will be chosen by random drawing from all eligible entries received. Eligibly per prize is outlined in point 3-Prizes. Winners will be notified by e-mail and required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability and Publicity form. Noncompliance will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. All drawings for this promotion will be conducted in Scottsdale, AZ by an independent marketing/judging organization whose decision is final in all matters relating to the giveaways. Odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible entries received. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting the online entry, the entry submitted by the person in whose name the e-mail account is registered will be considered the entrant.
5. Conditions:
Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and non-changeable. Cash or credit alternatives will not be offered. bmi reserves the right to provide substitute prizes of similar value should the specified prizes become unavailable.
Prize winner and companion must travel together on all dates/flights and are responsible for all required travel documents (i.e.: valid passports, visas, inoculations, etc.). Winners must be at least 18 years of age and legal U.S. resident. Winner’s companion must also be at least 18 years of age and a legal U.S. resident. Prize letters will be issued to the Grand prize and Runner up winners and travel for these prizes must be completed by April 30, 2011. Seats are capacity controlled and subject to availability at the time of booking. Blackout dates may apply. bmi’s condition of carriage shall apply to all air transportation.
bmi reserves the right to cancel or amend the terms of this prize promotion without notice in the unlikely event of major catastrophe, war, earthquake, or any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other similar event.
By participating in this promotion, the winner grants the promoters permission to use their name and likeness for advertising and future promotional purposes without additional compensations (except where prohibited). Winner will depart from either Houston (IAH) or Newark (EWR) on Continental Airlines to London Heathrow (LHR), with a connection on bmi to their final selected bmi destination. Winners travel to/from these gateway cities will be at the winner's expense. Winners are liable for any tax liability accruing as a result of this promotion. This promotion is void where prohibited. Online entrants must have valid e-mail address and it is the entrant’s responsibility to update bmi of any change in their e-mail address. No transfer, assignment or substitution of a prize is permitted by any winner. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of bmi, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this promotion).
By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to release and hold harmless bmi, its officers, directors, employees, and agents (the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in this promotion, or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the promotion; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the promotion or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the promotion or acceptance, receipt use or misuse of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties' liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the promotion, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney's fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, incidental, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. bmi is not responsible if any prize cannot be awarded due to travel cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather or acts of terrorism.
